Yes. Talking with, rather than talking at, is better.

πŸ’― More people need to realize this.

There needs to be a pop-up if you go over a certain number of characters:

"Did you want to write a long form article instead?"

Or a bot that does cliffnotes πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Both of these are great ideas!

Like just give me the takeaway πŸ₯±πŸ˜‚

TL:DR I want the meat of the story and I'll read the fluff if I'm interested.

I'm getting flashbacks of recipe sites. Spend 5 minute scrolling past the story to get to the instructions πŸ˜‚πŸ˜

Exactly!! I don't care about your grandmother's lavender farm and fresh baked pies Susan, I want to know how to cook rice in my instant pot πŸ™„

i think this started with James Beard’s American Cookery. It was written like a memoir with recipes. But that unusual style turned into a formula…

It's kinda funny because I like YouTube channels that combine history and recipes. But the story has to be interesting. That's the key.

when it becomes a formula, its uninteresting

It keeps you on their page so they get ad money. I have the "Too Many Eggs" book that gives a history on all the recipe types which is fun, but it gets a bit tiresome when it's EVERY SINGLE recipe and it's the same story every time.

someone does something unique and interesting,

everyone copies it, it becomes uninteresting and tiresome

We totally need a tldrbot πŸ‘€

Devs?

#tldrstr

I think there's a better solution 😈

That would be so good. So infuriating to the OP when it replies:

"Oops! Looks like you've written a Long Form Article in a regular note. Here's an AI Generated Summary of your article to save everyone's time."

tldr ai summarizer makes op big mad

Much angery 😑

I wish Amethyst supported writing long form notes. It should auto switch the note type. It just renders markdown and everything by default so Vitor didn't see much reason to use a special note type, but I think it makes sense to.

I like the freedom rant when a rant is really needed.

I don't understand the difference between long form and regular content and at this point I'm too afraid to ask.
