Don’t have links, but as I understand it’s counter productive to block sunlight from your skin generally speaking. Beyond it being necessary to create vitamin D, sunlight helps your skin produce a lot of other physiological responses that are good to your health. Fiat Dermatologists will fear monger you all day, but if you’re not burning the pros outweigh the cons of sun exposure. And there is all the garbage vegetable oils and processed petrochemicals you’re putting on your skin that are definitely being absorbed. No bueno.

If you’re pale as a ghost because you spend all the time inside and then you go to FL for spring break then you’ll probably need some sunblock if you’re gonna be on the sun because your skin is not ready for that stimulus and you will burn. Ideally you want to spend time outside year round so your skin can adapt to the sun so it doesn’t burn.

If you must use sunblock because you’re really pale or because you have tattoos, I would go with tallow based sunscreen that are mineral based. There are some that are just tallow + zinc + vitamin E.
