holy cow I’ve got to move 🤣

Beautiful 🤩

Is that the trail that starts up in a neighborhood? Then winds around the mountain and every valley you enter charges from ginger to bamboo? I hiked a trail 15 years ago that I LOVED and I could never quite figure out the name when I wanted to tell someone to go hike it.

No that sounds like Ka’au Crater. Are there lots of water falls?

This one starts above UH at the state recreation area. Beautiful, challenging trail

Actually I don’t remember very many waterfalls. I did some more looking on AllTrails. Now I think it was the aiea loop that I extended into the aiea ridge trail because I do remember the view of the highway going into the tunnel. It wasn’t super challenging but the views were cool and the diversity of vegetation was amazing! That being said I was there for about 6 weeks and if I wasn’t working I was on a trail so some of them may be merging in my mind.

Ahh Aiea Ridge is a great trail. So many incredible, challenging hikes on Oahu. I feel blessed to live here.

Is that you? Gurl you look like a child 😅skincare routine? 🤔

That’s me and thank you! Tallow cleanser and tallow balm, that’s it. I think Im just lucky to have a Korean mom.

One of my favorite hikes on the planet is the Moanalua Valley Trail. Very similar views from the ridge. We had one day to hike it during our stay on Oahu. Wore spikes, used trekking poles, made it to the top despite rain and wind. We were a muddy mess by the time we reached the summit! We opted to climb down the stairs for safety because hiking up took way longer than expected and it started getting dark. Some saintly Uber driver shuttled us and our mucky gear at 11pm from Kaneohe to where we left the car on the other side of the Ko’olau. (We were so grateful! Tipped him double the ride fare.) Slept like a baby that night and hopped a flight over to Kauai the next morning. What a memory! 😅

Amazing! Moanalua Valley is an awesome, gorgeous hike, but makes for a really long day. So smart you wore spikes and used poles. People rarely do here and often get into trouble. In fact I didn’t take mine last month hiking a muddy Olomana and my husband had to carry me out after I twisted my ankle.

Did you do Kalaulau?

Not yet. There are so many amazing looking hikes on the island. I want to do them all!

Actually, we did do Kalaulau to Hanakapi’ai Beach and then hiked to the falls and back. That was another great trail. Swimming in the pool below the falls was refreshing!

Amazing view!
