this could be your sequoia in the year 5,000 at block height 200,000,000

who wants 10,000 sats?
over the last 5 years or so I've been giving away giant sequoia tree saplings to anyone who will plant them. I've probably given away a couple hundred so far, many at bitcoin meetups near me, others I've mailed. i've sent seeds internationally. i have no idea how many of the trees are still alive. hopefully more than a few.
i started buying my dad these trees for father's day about a decade ago and it's become a great inter-generational project for our family as we try to keep them alive and imagine what they might become someday. it's cool to think that they should still be here when my unborn grandkids are themselves grandparents. our family's land has a healthy grove of 21 sequoias.
when bitcoin clicked for me, its seemed obvious that other bitcoiners would also understand the value of starting a project which would take many hundreds of years to mature. i've found that to be mostly true.
i would love to continue doing this but i think i've exhausted the supply of low time preference junkies within driving distance of me and i find packing/mailing trees to be a hassle
so, if you can prove to me that you are a real human and that you bought and planted a giant sequoia tree i will zap you to cover the cost, plus a little tip for joining my quixotic quest to endow our distant descendants with a more beautiful world (in case you didn't know, sequoias can live for thousands of years and can grow to nearly 30 feet in diameter...so choose your location wisely!). the offer stands for the first 21 people to post a pic of their tree planted in the ground. i reserve the right to not zap you if i think you're a bot or if you're posting a picture from the internet
the nursery linked below ships anywhere in the US. For people elsewhere, do some googling, I'm sure you can figure something out.

Incredible
Oh wow! amazing!
What kind of weather those sequoia need?
Got a place in the "empty part of Spain" that I could plant some seeds at :)
Spain is ideal. Will just need access to water

This place has snowy winters that paint the landscape white from october to march.
Is that something it can withstand?
How much water? There is a river need, but water has been less and less present in that river :(
I think I have alkaline clay soil. Last time I tried planting one it died over the summer even with drip irrigation. What else can I try?
