This practice is so dumb. Could you imagine if bluesky actually overtook Twitter like its users thought it would? Most journalists would get on these lists cuz they follow people they report on / disagree with so they can cover their posts in articles

I guess I'm one that would need a mute pack least but I love the idea that I could mute certain topics, media types or languages, then feasibly leave a global feed on?

browsing and poasting. i'm increasingly using global relay feeds instead of a "following" feed and moderation is becoming more important, i don't want to see every poast.

From what I heard, that's what Bluesky does... it has full block sets where you can block every opinion outside of your particular bubble.

being in control of what you see in your feed is important. i also like the fact that you can restrict the replies to your poasts to the people you follow.
