So… Wi-Fi radiation - was not on my bingo card for Rogan-RFK chat.

What do we think about that? Do we need physical Wifi switch buttons on our phones now?

airplane mode

Doesn’t that keep wifi on or can you customize?

You can cut wifi off too

Yes! Like the Librem phone has

That’s nice! I like the idea of physical kill switches.

If you’d put your tin hat back on you wouldnt have to worry about this.

Wired headphones & faraday underwear

Also more wired connections in the house & faraday protected rooms for sleep 🤔

keep them away from your balls and your brains.

It's probably completely BS

It’s hard to say. There are so many articles mocking this topic saying it’s all bullshit and pointing out the difference between ionizing and non ionizing radiation.

What’s interesting to me, that with a quick google search, I find that different agencies have different responses to this concern. Cancer institute says “evidence to date suggests that cell phone use does not cause brain or other kinds of cancers in humans”. CDC says “no scientific evidence that provides definitive answer”. Mainstream crap mocking all of it, as if it’s a certainty (even though CDC says no definitive answer).

Meanwhile, International Agency on Cancer has classified RF radiation as “possible” human carcinogen. But again, not enough data.

So it sounds to me like there’s no conclusive evidence yet, but that’s not the same as saying for certain it’s bullshit.

All this with 5 mins of Googling. I wonder what I would turn up spending a few days on this…

Try checking Google scholar and read metanalysies in published good journals

The important part is the wattage output of the antenna, which exponentially dissipates over distance (3D). We have lived in a soup of EM radiation for the past 100 years or so. Any more general long-term effects should become visible in the next years. Until now, it has been mostly harmless unless you get too close to a high-powered source for a very long time.

I think the question is less about EMF sources but more modern High frequency stuff.

Evidence seems inconclusive, leaning not harmful at quick glance.

It’s really about whether it’s ionising radiation or not, being “too close” isn’t a real concern for phones and wifi.

Ionizing radiation is proven to be bad. I think most people discuss non-ionizing radiation in these topics. You can have non-ionizing radiation that enters the skin and blood with an amount of energy big enough to cause electronic excitation. That can be used for the good and the bad. See therapeutic photomedicine, for instance, where people beam the body with visible light at such a high level that it can temporarily cut neuron transmission and block pain.

Right, but I don’t think that concern applies to consumer devices. There are some schizos that swear it does, even though the intensity of radiation from the sun is much higher than any cell phone.

Looks at the microwave... :)

Agree. My point is that frequency is not that important at the level we usually see in communications. The wattage of the wave is.

EMF from wifi sees like a sus root cause for the claimed issues. It’s very low energy. I’ll have to dive into it.. 2.4GHz is nicely tuned to interact with water, so not the DNA directly. Are there any bonds in DNA that respond strongly to 2.4GHz? Or maybe the idea is that hot water molecules collide with DNA and damage it?

Trying to collect info on delivered wattage to water at least when in the sun

It effects people differently. I’m pretty sensitive and it makes my hand holding the phone ache. I can tell by feel before the phone rings or if the WiFi is turned off/on. Other people don’t seem to notice and I’ve met people more sensitive.

I’d be more concerned about Bluetooth next to your brain with EarPods.

I always turn of the wifi on my router before I go to sleep. 😁

Same

It’s an interesting consideration. Many people don’t realize that inside of each living cell of the human body are little structures that act like little EM circuits, including LC circuits (resonant LC circuits) AND structures that act like little antennas for frequency.

What happens when you are always swimming in a sea of frequencies, some that are not needed or even detrimental to each cell? Interference? Less optimal function?

Short term, it is hard to see what the effects might be to health etc… and long term studies for a lot of newer wireless technologies can’t yet exist.

So we are left with our own subjective experience - always worthwhile to see how you can limit these things in your life and see what you see. Depending on ‘science’ won’t get you anywhere very quickly..

Not sure why posting a reply resulted in 4 repeats 🤷‍♂️
