Score!!

Sophia has started playing with my keys, so I wanted to take the two old keys I had moved to the studio for use as stamps back home with me today so she could have her own β€œtoy” keychain. They don’t go to anything anymore, but had a little sentimental value.

I figured I’d better finally use them as stamps before taking them home, and made this little key catcher. Huh. I like it a lot. I should probably make more and offer them for sale. But where to get keys I can use another day…

I remembered that a bowl full of old keys appeared near the studio door when they changed the keys and locks, so I found it and asked the head studio guy about it. He said I could HAVE them all AND the bowl they come in. Lots of interesting shapes in here…

Would you like a key bowl like this? I could glaze them in a variety of colors with translucent glazes that will show up very nicely on the stamps (β€œceladons”). Let me know!

these would be so cute for decorating an entryway!

Definitely the idea!! And the glazes I would use come in a lot of different colors; there’s something to suit anyone.

ooo, you could personalize with initials in the keys and it'd be a really good housewarming present 🎁

Love it! I was gonna make one that said β€œwelcome home” as well

home sweet home

not your keys, not your coin

Looks good! Whenever I make something my family doesn’t want to eat off of, the piece usually ends up serving in this capacity of β€œkey bowl”…

At my folks’ house, mugs we didn’t drink out of but still liked became pen holders 😁
