Tip: don’t look for someone with empathy but someone who rigorously tests their assumptions.

Are both characteristics good?

The greater your empathy the more accurate your tests will be

I’ve done plenty of multi-variant testing before but don’t wish to use any tracking anymore

I'd say empathy gets you there faster, but only testing makes sure you're in the right place.
