I spoke with a few of my cousins & friends who are also doctors or have doctor friends and they all advised against taking antidepressant medications, (especially if you're young.)

Instead, they recommended going to a gym, practicing meditation, and taking a vacation.

They explained that becoming dependent on antidepressants can have detrimental effects on one's emotional well-being as they eventually override the natural mechanisms of our feelings.

In simple words, you can't feel happy without taking the meds. That's very frightening.

So personally I will try my best to not take any antidepressant meds but it's not an advice for everyone, every individual is unique. They have to explore what works for them.

Yes, exactly that. I'm glad you have good people in your life pointing you into the right directions.

Do you also feel depressed?

Why anti-depressant for ocd or anxiety?

If I refrain from thinking about it and keep myself engaged elsewhere, I don't feel anything.

It seems that the more I ponder on it, the more noticeable it becomes.

However, please don't consider my words as advice. Just yesterday, I wasn't even aware that I had anything like that.

Nah, I won't. Hope it works out for ya.

💯agree with this. I’ve never taken any. Interestingly, I just heard earlier today that depression could mean that you’re denying a truth of some sort. When you live in your truth and act from that place, of being true to yourself, you’re in a natural state of joy.

Dependency and withdrawl are more serious than you can imagine. The drugs are a last resort. Doctors have many incentives that have nothing to do with health. Wish I knew then what I know now.
