Can somebody fill me in again on what Gab is ? Is it a social media platform , and if so , what is it doing that is different than Nostr ?

They are hosting the servers, so they are more like a small twitter/facebook than nostr.

Social media, uses a mastodon backend - free speech ethos, they’re building other stuff to like payment processor and marketplace - I could see them using nostr in the future
