Which cloud do you think is more based and less likely to ban a Bitcoin business?

Google or Microsoft?

I have no direct experience, but I’ve heard many Bitcoiners laud Hetzner.

https://www.hetzner.com/

They both suck 😅

Microsoft Azure

I like DigitalOcean. Although my compute happens on my own hardware and I only use cloud as the public front door. I can swap out my cloud provider in a couple hours if needed.

Microsoft has a history of supporting bitcoin and even accepting it directly for xbox

I would go with Microsoft.

I hear that google doesn't prioritize backwards compatibility in their cloud offerings.

I'd like to point out that amazon was the only major cloud company that never had a vaccine mandate. Fuck Microsoft and fuck google

Great point.

If either got pressure from the right sources, both would ban bitcoin in an instant.

Both risky, but google has a proven track record of being unpredictable in terms of support. I think Microsoft moves too slowly to be easily pressured into such an impactful decision… maybe…

Wow neither

Nextcloud on own server!

Other than self hosted Nextcloud would ban Bitcoin if requested by law.

Neither.

But if I had to bet on one that would be Google.

Reason 1. Their cloud services needs users. Most use Azure or AWS so crypto is a good business for them.

Reason 2. They are already very public about helping lighting nodes, cryptos like Solana node etc.

either way, plan ahead for portability so you can jump ship. #unruggable
