Replying to Avatar Erik Jonker

I am wondering about Bluesky , Mastodon and Threads. After Mastodon I am now also trying Bluesky which "feels" nice , also the atmosphere is positive. But on a technical level I think Bluesky may be a dead end. When threads gets serious with federating/connecting to the Fediverse, together with Mastodon, Fediverse/activitypub will have more mass. Bluesky has chosen a different protocol sadly.

Any thoughts or opinions?

Well outlier technologies almost never survive.

They were all better than the majority and they all lost.

And BlueSky isn't even technically better. So I'd say it has no chance long term, unless it changes course and federates.
