It's honestly a shame that seeing anything remotely bitcoin-related is offputting to the HN crowd. Some of them even said stuff like "the protocol is cool but I wouldn't touch it with a 10-foot pole because bitcoiners like it"

I lolled. Those clowns are ngmi

With a lot of legitimate criticisms.

The entire thread is ā€œnsecs are badā€ and ā€œassociated with bitcoiners so it’s badā€. Ok sure but let’s ignore everything else… šŸ™„

That’s obviously not the legitimate comments I’m referring to. But yes, those are serious points of disinterest by potential users.

Those are called laggards and you're not gonna convert them at this phase of adoption

Whores and bitcoiners are not the problem, just a consequence of growth. The larger the audience, the more diverse the interests of users will be. Nostr has more room for diversity than Twitch.

when I found nostr I stopped visiting the orange site.

Don’t think they were necessarily negative. It was just criticism.

Right… toxic as always

Toxic shit like this makes me cringe.

You’re average hacker news user

Fuck em, they will come when they need nostr and Bitcoin for survival..

These Dev will be all wet for selling SaaS, fiat brainlets are naturally avert to freedom tech.

Pretty much any comment section on any IT site, about anything!

Holy crap, my technical skills are non-existent compared to any of you guys doing any dev work on nostr, but I felt more intelligent than some of the commentators on there
