HURRICANE MELISSA – DAY 3 RELIEF UPDATE

Current Situation:

* Widespread flooding and road damage across Jamaica’s south coast.

* Many areas remain inaccessible, especially Clarendon, St. Thomas, and St. Elizabeth.

* Ongoing efforts by our volunteers to reach isolated communities with food and essential supplies.

Relief Operations:

* Supplies have been purchased locally to support nearby businesses.

* Focused on smaller communities not yet reached by major relief organizations or government aid.

Challenges:

* Several roads remain impassable or washed away.

* Transport by trucks and motorcycles where possible. Some areas require delivery by foot.

* Limited communication in certain rural areas due to power and signal outages, charging stations for devices are urgently needed.
