To all dingo Lutherans in light of the upcoming Voice referendum:

Grace, mercy and peace to you from God our Father and our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

This public statement by the Lutheran Church of Australia may not surprise you given the current state of church bodies in the modern age. I believe the statement has been made with the best of intentions and a heart that wants the best for Aboriginals, but none of that means you need to vote one way or another just because your church body leans one way or another.

You also don't need to accept the framing of the issue as put forward by some of the quoted individuals. The Voice does not happen in a vacuum, so I encourage you to follow what is being proposed to its' logical conclusion, and if it doesn't add up it's okay to vote "no".

Tempers will be running hot and in a church already divided by the women's ordination issue, it could be the spark that blows congregations apart. So please, if only for your own sake, be as wise as serpents and innocent as doves.

Should you need to leave your congregation or, God forbid, be cast out, you will always have a home in the Catacomb Synod (verylutheran.biz/) and a faithful shepherd in nostr:npub1tm55f0cag3zvrg3rpf4nvduu7g5f0kawnav9wvjykd65uj3ylhfswpzt6m .

Now the Peace of our Lord, which surpasses all understanding, guard our hearts and our minds in Christ Jesus our Lord. Amen.

I really despise when the politics of liberalism, and ultimately the dispossession of our people, are cloaked as kindheartedness.
