Do you mean the douay-rheims? He might not know what you're referring to if you just say "Catholic bible".

Also, as others have mentioned in the thread start with the Gospels first instead of Genesis.

Please no, I already have a hard enough time having to go through multiple captchas to either get to Google or into the ebook library I need for my study.

Truly us VPN chads are being unjustly targeted by Big Data.

>"imagine if we could get the americans to build"

Might as well have just stopped there.

One of my disagreements is that they're reading too far into it being a wedding. The same as non-RCC scholars saying the wedding alludes to the wedding of God and the Church (Israel), or Jesus being the bridegroom. I'm certain John was aware of at least the latter given the number of times Jesus the bridegroom is mentioned in the synoptics, but I honestly think he's just telling us about the wedding to establish that there was in fact a wedding going on.

As for Luke 2:19, from what I understand it's an expression used to say that the person remembered the events. Luke is essentially saying that Mary is an eyewitness to the events he's recording and that she is his source.

Perhaps my disagreement is with how the change in relationship was worded as it sounded to me like Mary was no longer Jesus' mother and instead His disciple which doesn't match up with other parts of John's gospel. We also don't know for certain that Jesus was being harsh, that expression can be interpreted a few different ways and may have been used to call attention to the fact that what Mary had asked goes beyond the situation at hand.

Reminds me of Philip Yancey's the Jesus I never knew.

Going to need that brick and mortar Catacomb Synod church soon nostr:npub1tm55f0cag3zvrg3rpf4nvduu7g5f0kawnav9wvjykd65uj3ylhfswpzt6m , things are pretty grim out there.

THESE HAVE A HOME TOWN?!

Well yeah, with the whole being called to ministry thing I can't be for TBD, especially when the older people at church are keeping a roof over my head and food on my table.

Well, if you're going to be all serious, then yeah an episode on "you don't have to meet unrealistic standards" would be alright.

BUT ON THE OTHER HAND, YOU COULD LEAN INTO IT AND RECORD AN EPISODE WHERE YOU JUST SHOUT ALL THE TIME BECAUSE WOMEN HATE A MAN WHO TYPES IN LOWER CASE.

BOTTOM TEXT.

September rides again

To all dingo Lutherans in light of the upcoming Voice referendum:

Grace, mercy and peace to you from God our Father and our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

This public statement by the Lutheran Church of Australia may not surprise you given the current state of church bodies in the modern age. I believe the statement has been made with the best of intentions and a heart that wants the best for Aboriginals, but none of that means you need to vote one way or another just because your church body leans one way or another.

You also don't need to accept the framing of the issue as put forward by some of the quoted individuals. The Voice does not happen in a vacuum, so I encourage you to follow what is being proposed to its' logical conclusion, and if it doesn't add up it's okay to vote "no".

Tempers will be running hot and in a church already divided by the women's ordination issue, it could be the spark that blows congregations apart. So please, if only for your own sake, be as wise as serpents and innocent as doves.

Should you need to leave your congregation or, God forbid, be cast out, you will always have a home in the Catacomb Synod (verylutheran.biz/) and a faithful shepherd in nostr:npub1tm55f0cag3zvrg3rpf4nvduu7g5f0kawnav9wvjykd65uj3ylhfswpzt6m .

Now the Peace of our Lord, which surpasses all understanding, guard our hearts and our minds in Christ Jesus our Lord. Amen.

If the guide was only parts 4 (after rewording) and 5 I'd be welcoming it, but it seems the public position is pretty clearly "vote yes".

I could nitpick each paragraph but it's not necessary, we all know the framing of "it's just about being heard, that's all" is bullshit and that's enough reason to say "No".

Yeah, nah. Crocs are up north, so far as I know, so like Queensland and the Northern Territory. The dingo incident happened in central Australia which basically just has red dirt, scrub, and a really big rock.

We don't even get cryptids, outback wildlife is dangerous enough I guess.
