Edge of Tomorrow and Memory in the Skin director Doug Liman has just signed on to bring to the screen "Killing Satoshi", a Bitcoin conspiracy thriller starring Casey Affleck and Pete Davidson.

The script, written by Nick Schenk (Gran Torino, The Mule), plunges into a world where governments, Wall Street and Silicon Valley clash in the shadows for one thing only: to prevent the truth about Satoshi Nakamoto, the mysterious creator of Bitcoin, from being revealed to the world.

"This film is not just about Bitcoin and its mysterious and elusive origins, but really about what it represents. We're approaching this film in the same way as 'Social Network' and its analysis of Facebook. This film should also help us discover what Bitcoin really is. " says Ryan Kavanaugh, the film's producer.

Shooting will start in October in London, and the film is due for release in 2026.
