Not going to be integrated into your main feed or anything, just a separate timeline which might be interesting as an alternative to the raw global
Discussion
Yeah, I’d wanna see that
cool
Why turn everything into a “competition”
I don't see it that way. I see it as a way to discover content you might have missed that is attached to real value.
I think users should be given power to choose and discover content based on their preference , not what nostr client wants to see them?
Yeah if it’s zaps instead of likes that would mean people actually thought it was valuable.
What if I zap you 100k sats on this note, does that mean this note is valuable and I can manipulate all the notes all day with few thousands sats 😅
All my notes will valuable without anyone knowing that I sent all those to myself from other nostr account.
Or people can see you're doing this and then unfollow you
If everyone has that much IQ or has a way to backtrack everything. Anyway I am not against your thought process nor against the idea. It’s your client you can do whatever you want to implement. 🫡 You are a legend and always be in my eyes 🫡
Alt accounts will just send sats to himself and no real value was transfered. Is there a way to prevent spam like this?
I think a separate feed meets the need, keep the timeline as time, and have a sorting section where you can do some interesting stuff, but home is time.
tbh if someone wants to spend 100k sats to manipulate posts then so be it.
manipulate my posts please ☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️
Zapped
Now I don’t understand nostr well, so perhaps im off the mark. But here’s an example. A business makes/creates hundreds bots to like/zap a photo posted by that business. If that businesses photo is an advertisement for a product then they are manipulating the algorithm to get attention to their product.
Zaps vs Likes seems like a significant difference. Likes are low/no value. Zaps have measurable value. High Zap count signifies perceived value of the note. And if it creates perverse incentives somehow Nostr is an open protocol. Drop Damus. 🤷♂️
I don’t want to drop Damus because it has already played great role in nostr adoption and lots of efforts are being already made.
Really like Damus myself. Just saying, it’s a pretty open market :)
Absolutely 🫡 power to the users not to the client’s owner , otherwise we would not be here and watching slow death of bird app 🤙
Hope my response didn’t come off as off putting, wasn’t ment be that way, more so ment be thought provoking. I like Damus! On here all the time!
Just check the complete thread notes and see which has got more sats. Is amount of sats is doing justice to showcase best valuable note?
Awesome, I support this. Shows where the most value is flowing
Love this idea
