All #nostr apps (including mine) should generate a key immediately and let the user use the app with ZERO login/signup splash screen. This is a unique advantage of nostr. We should leverage it.

We can introduce the user to the concept of identities. Retaining the "account" metaphor is detrimental and unappealing. It makes nostr seem like every other centralized platform. It's familiar, but it is wrong. We can do better!

The user should understand that the private Key represent their unique identity in on every client they will ever use

i get you but most people will just get pissed at loosing their "account" when they clear the cache or something similar....

They need to make a paradigm shift and starting to take their privacy seriously by backing up their private keys...we must do more on the teaching new habits

Guide them in the right direction. Dont force feed

The main issue here Is about responsability...the common user want someone to rely on if they loose access to their data...they will ever trade privacy for comfort sadly...but we can help starting from the people near us...I m trying to convince my wife to leave tik tok for nostr...a hard Battle 😂

I havent yet added onboarding of nostr to Corny Chat but I wouldnt implement in the manner directed as (1) I should not possess the key (2) not everyone needs nostr all the time. Specifically, Corny Chat intentionally allows for anonymity, and the nostr enabled features are enhancements, not required for core functionality.

This would be great! A way to show the identity that is currently being used would be needed for this ofc, similar to RoboSats.

How do you find your stuff?

Having a true identity across multiple apps is very different from having multiple accounts and separate logins to keep track of.
