Long press tenor, share, copy. When you post make sure link end with ".gif" to be sure it's animated. Other sites like Yarn don't seem to work for me at all

Yakihonne client has built in support for gifs. If you want to try that. Or just stick with Gifbuddy, the new link and forget Tenor.

I think Yahkihonne uses Giphy for its GIFs. Where do you want to upload to?

I meant memeamigo can take in new gifs if I load them somehow right? I should be doing that to improve its search but never have figured it out, and it's easier to just use tenor in those cases.

Side note, just successfully used giphy to paste over, but think I had to go a level deeper into their share options and then remove some tracking stuff for good measure

Yes, you can upload GIFs to memeamigo, you just need to tag it or provide a unique description good enough for you to find the gif later (under Search Nostr).

Thought so, and figured you'd be person to know. Does that require saving to device and uploading that, or is say pasting a tenor link on memeamigo supposed to work (thought I tried on mobile a while back with no luck)?

OK, the way I got it to work is... Find the gif you want to use, navigate to it in Safari, long press on the animation and click share (if you select copy then you can paste the gif into Damus but it will do an upload, not desirable). Share to Damus from the menu should work.

Pasting the copied link is bad, cuz it uploads? Think that's what I've been doing. Didn't realize there was "share to Damus" which I assume is one of the icons there at bottom of note

If you select Copy it puts the entire image then does the upload once you paste it. Share only shares the link to the file.
