On a #bitcoin standard, there will be no such thing as an asset like we know it today. This is insane, the only asset, will be bitcoin. Or maybe a good performing company.

Assets are just things of value. There will be plenty of assets. Your car is an asset. Your home is an asset. They just wouldn’t be considered financial instruments the way they are today.
I would not list cars or homes as assets. All of mine are money ;its lolol...
If you need to sell something but don’t wanna sell your bitcoin, your car or home would work. So I still consider them assets haha
True yes, but but it's no longer an asset in the way that, people store their wealth in those as a store of value. That will no longer be a thing.
I get what you’re saying. It will be the ultimate asset but not the only asset. If you’re a salon, then your assets will be the tools you use for work. Scissors, irons, shampoos, etc. If the business struggles or fails, those things will be sold off to repay any debts.
I dont have a car and i dont have a house/appartment... my priorities are bitcoin rn. I do have a roof, dont worry.
Everything gets demonetized. Companies, houses, land, metals. Everything drops to it's utility value. Now, add all those premiums to Bitcoin and you start to understand. Index funds and everything will be absorbed. Why are you so bearish?
I'm not bearish at all on bitcoin, I know bitcoin will absorb all the fiat money. I just didn't realise the fact that we will no longer hear the word "asset" in the same way, and that blew me away.
Indeed but it is not just absorbing fiat money. It is also absorbing all the monetised substitutes because fiat does not hold value. People hold art, Rolex watches etc. all these will drop significantly as they become demonetised. Bitcoin will absorb so much more than all the fiat money. And yes when money itself is the apex asset all other items become either liabilities or high risk speculation vs money itself there is no reward without significant risk.
