Well, that was the state of the internet in its "golden age" (1995 - ~2010), sooo... well, I think I can say the generation who witnessed that time as kids / teenagers grew up through it, perhaps a bit faster than otherwise, but most turned out just fine

That's a fair point, though things were a lot slower back then.
I had a C-band satellite dish, (along with finding a stack of dirty magazines in our pump house) 🤣.
Getting access to everything broadcasted across the US was plenty fast enough for me to stumble upon Clockwork Orange when I was in primary school. 🤷🏻♂️
