Hi guys, pardon the interruption. I need some help finding harassers to document / observe. I have posted a bounty (Its only 20k sats so far but growing) for anyone who can bring me to the scene of one of these harassments that justifies censorship. I have a feeling "keeping the ladies safe" is being used as a vector to censor the relays but dont want anyone being harassed either. Just need to see some for myself to understand and start thinking this through.

That is history. I want to see and help in current and upcoming situations. I want or need nothing from anyone here. All I need is some clarity so that I can shut up the insulting narrative that is being promoted about nostr. I am no saint and no ones hero but I am tired of having the place i hang out everyday insulted.

thats what I thought the protocol was. seems to work for the ppl on my follow list. It appears to not be sufficient though since we are constantly called the wild west and referred to like ferals. this is on aggregate a better informed, more capable, more principled (even if i disagree) set of people than i have seen elsewhere social platform or irl

I just mute them. Easy. Don’t feed a parasite it leaves the host.

seems like isnt that easy for everyone though from what i keep hearing (from men exclusively at this point ironically) so i wanna see. call me a masochist but i wanna see these creatures so foul that censorship should be discussed.

Then look at who is blocked and find the patterns. It’s not that hard

that has been my experience as well. i have started to get a little offended by the way nostr is being characterized and it seems to always come from those who want to propose centralized censorship measures. So I want to see this band of harassers for myself. From my experience here, I think they are far less potent here than elsewhere. so why the consistent safety for the ladies narrative?

the bounty continues to rise and still no takers. I will let it sit if it gets to 100k and see how long it takes to find 4 current cases that I can see in progress.

the great thing is that from a legal standpoint, nobody has a duty of care to do more than they legitimately actually can do about such mischief, and everyone in the dev community responds fast to outbreaks of bullshit, and many clients already have numerous countermeasures against the more common kinds of abuse

i don't understand what these snowflakes are on about

i made one post on reddit a few years back, and got piled in on by a bunch of "ackchually" trolls and discovered that i was not able to mute these dickwads and that was the first and last time i used it

nostr has a mute function, snowflakes are too weak and pale to be able to exercise any kind of self defense
