I have the GPUs. I dont know how to create an AI. Would be sweet though.

U have a bucket of 3090s collecting dust? I can take them off your hands ☺️

Pretty much. 6 3080s

I'll run it locally and you can remote in and create an AI. We can share the AI. Back up the files so your efforts are saved.

If that's even possible.

Set up a DVM to let nostr users train their AI's 😶

🤤

They’re probably all cooked to death from mining

GPUs running under constant load have less wear than ones that are constantly being fired on and off for gaming sessions. Also probably more likely to have been maintained properly

Honestly I'd rather buy a used mining card than a gaming one

And do you have evidence to support this claim? It doesn’t make sense at all to me, there’s a reason why miners sell their GPUs at a way lower price than other used sales.

It also doesn’t make sense that a GPU that would be running 24/7 on a high temperature would be better to buy used than a GPU that is only turned on for part of the day, and on a high temperature irregularly.

Constantly changing temperature causes materials to expand and contract over and over again leading to failures. It's called thermal cycling. You can Google it yourself if you want to know more.

Constant loads are worse for fans but those are easy and cheap to replace

I don’t know, you might be right but I’m no expert, it’s an interesting topic though. Found this thread on Tom’s Hardware, its a good discussion: https://forums.tomshardware.com/threads/gamings-thermal-cycling-vs-minings-components-degradation-which-is-worse-to-gpus-lifespan.3747493/

You can just rent GPU farms by the hour. It’s cheaper than you think
