I do like Amethyst but this morning I woke up to see that every note in my feed is now translated in my native language, which I really don't want! I guess it comes from the client right?
I can't find how to deactivate it...
Just add English to Android's system language. The app doesn't translate the languages you speak. Settings/System/Language
The workaround fix that 99% times but sometime the detected language is wrong and posts are badly translated.
Why don't opt-in the transaltion with a preference and we off let click-to-translate?
Seems a sensible solution, perhaps more privacy focused too (I suppose an external service is used, right?).
However, Amethyst is great, my daily driver on Android!
My hope is to develop a set of settings where auto-translation is naturally accepted in the default experience.
We may have some options, but keeping autotranslate by default is a key user experience advantage in my mind. Even when translations are not perfect.
A world where we can all talk to each other is better than a world where we just talk to our peers in the same language, or a world where there is some friction to access an external group (like actively pressing a button to translate)

A few tweaks needed if i might interject.
We can't see NIP-05 verification and on the profile when you scroll only the lower portion moves while your profile picture and info stays there which makes the real-estate for posts really small.
Also when you try to add more relays like 20 or above the field you type in disappears under the keyboard. You type blindly and the "add" button goes into hiding. #[1]
