California?

Probably. They’re right near that price point in CA. Wonder why there are empty shelves in the supermarket? The rates for transportation are not keeping up with diesel prices.

Man life in Cali must be stressful AF now days.

People seem pretty angry driving around. I’m glad that the few trips I make these days are pretty rural, just picking up animal feed. It’s illegal, but I carry anyway. I’m not interested in being a victim of angry animal aggression. It’s going to get worse before, and if it gets better. Our empire is crumbling.

Yes, Cali

$3.12 where I live right now.

Daaaang. Texas?

Nope. Midsouth.

I remember everything being cheap when I lived in Arkansas. Gas food rent... A guy could afford to live pretty easily down there.

It helps. I’m not going to lie. Wages are lower too (I’m in the bottom quartile for my industry) but it balances out plus some I think.

This was like 2008 economy but I was able to make it for a while with just $20 a week for groceries down there. Could get a loaf of bread for like $0.79.

I remember getting by with the equivalent of 300 euros my first year in college back in Spain. With that I paid rent, all my groceries and all my vices. Then, came the euro, 25% inflation from one day to the other.

Right after college, a decade ago, rent was only $500, for an entire floor. πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ

That might be what renting just one room goes for nowadays

Yep. 2BR apartments are $2K a month now.
