I remember everything being cheap when I lived in Arkansas. Gas food rent... A guy could afford to live pretty easily down there.
It helps. Iām not going to lie. Wages are lower too (Iām in the bottom quartile for my industry) but it balances out plus some I think.
This was like 2008 economy but I was able to make it for a while with just $20 a week for groceries down there. Could get a loaf of bread for like $0.79.
I remember getting by with the equivalent of 300 euros my first year in college back in Spain. With that I paid rent, all my groceries and all my vices. Then, came the euro, 25% inflation from one day to the other.
