That doesn’t seem like a workable long term solution. I’d rather mine my own TXs if I could and let them fuck around with their “pictures” 🐶🐾🤣

I think we should at least add the ability for full nodes to not relay tx's over a user specified size. Then we can increase the chances of monetary transactions getting in blocks before new oRdiNaLs hit the mempool of the miner.
I'll be running a custom node doing this in the future and make it an easy binary release so more people can do it. Power of numbers of nodes does have an effect if their shit doesn't get past us. Then the best option they have is to try and figure out who isn't relaying them to black list them. Whack a mole game that we can keep ahead of by changing our node's IP address using tunnels or renting new IP addresses regularly.
Clever stuff, but this isn’t going to help the average stacker.
so long as this "We CaN't StOp ThEm CoMpLeTeLy So LeT's NoT bOtHeR" attitude continues they will continue to do the attack.
It's spam, ffs. You wouldn't tolerate it on your nostr feed, and that's far less important.
Yep, i see that. I didn’t say not bother. I just don’t have the solution. Big difference. All of us here are here for Bitcoin to be adopted and used, I was hoping more for people than jpegs. It’ll right itself as more is developed but right now it’s an ordinal shitshow 🤷♂️
Well, I don't think it's ever going to change. Fiat is infinite. The protocol was built too open.
Taproot has opened it up
I don't get this.
I thought that satoshi built it so it could have infinite sized op_returns. Or was it Segwit?
Does anyone even understand which is which? is it Taproot? Why does taproot do it? Why did taproot have to be a bundle with schnorr signatures, or can I send to an address based on a Schnorr pubkey without going through the Taproot rigmerole? If not, why not?
I was all excited about progress with reducing space usage on chain with all the things and then this happened. And now nobody seems to know what is going on.
