If you were a remote worker, would you take $20k more cuck bucks a year but have to commute everyday?

hmm, leaning towards no

I think that’s where I would be leaning as well

Depends on commute and how much more 20k is % to what current pay is.

About 10% more

Commute is about 20 min each way

Meh, rough math sounds like the 20k is just paying for your commute in time assuming 40hrs/wk and 2 weeks off. Then add in gas and vehicle upkeep it’s about break even probably.

It would be by train. Also have to consider that’s about an hour less of free time a day. In this situation I don’t think I’d do it

Tough question. Might depend on how long & crowded the commute was. Maybe buy Comma.ai to reduce driving stress & listen to books otw 🤔

I'd do it by train. If I had to drive? Probably not

Some would accept 10% cut of their yearly income just to be able work remotely.

You have to take things into consideration like transportation (car $5000), Gas ($100 a week 52 weeks $5200), Insurance ($2500 a yr), Time (priceless) that’s the low end estimates

Great points. In this case it would be by train 20 min each direction.

Damn well that’s a daily adventure.. worth it IMO average commute time here is hour +

How long is the commute? Do I get to walk, or is there a train?

There’s a train it’s about 20 min each way. You won’t need to buy a car to commute or pay for gas. You will however have to pay for a train ticket each day

Yes I’d do it under these conditions

I believe 30k is my number for that situation.

As a non fully remote worker, in a job that should be, I would take a $20k to be fully remote

Cut*
