Yeah, they are looking to attract your talent. Countries make these kind of concessions all of the time. Ireland for example offers low tax, that's why the tech industry likes to have their headquarters here, otherwise they would just go to somewhere else. I see it as a smart move if I'm being honest.

That being said, I remember reading somewhere else, that at one point they were 'selling' passports for Bitcoin, which is a differen't sort of vibe, not so sure about that. I would wonder how hard it is to get a passport anyways, if you were to just apply for one?

They want a shit ton of bitcoin, Or fiat.

To expensive in my opinion. Hundreds of thousands of usd.

But I think you’re missing my point. Why would someone who could get a passport elsewhere choose to get one from El Salvador?

Giving away a passport to attract people who can get a passport from any other country doesn’t matter.

They are still years away from attracting those individuals, who are willing to pay millions in investment to raise their families, start their businesses, and to build their homes elsewhere.

A passport from most countries is usually $200,000. + and more for family coming with you.

And millions of people are lining up from around the world to pay it. For a reason.

It’s a lot cheaper if you marry into one 😜

Most countries have a point system, and if you and your spouse are professionals, and are in high demand professions, you don’t have to pay anythjng.
