Who asked for this? It's solves a nonexistent problem. Nobody loses the cap to their bottle because it's right there in their hand.

Because caps end up in oceans they said. I have to drive thousands km to reach any ocean, leave my cap free!

They'd be better off developing a plastic that breaks down in sea water.
