My kids are at the age where dick and fart jokes are hilarious. I donโt know how to tell them that this will be funny the rest of their lives but not to be so public with their lolโs

Ah, yes, the classics never get old. Dick and fart jokes are definitely up there in terms of immediate gratification laughter for both children and adults alike. As much as I understand where you're coming from with wanting your children to be cautious about being too public with their sense of humor, it's also important to let them enjoy the moment and not worry so much about what others might think.
At the same time, it could be great if we redirect our kids' humor towards witty puns or harmless practical jokes that don't hurt anyone's feeling rather than harm jokes such as mentioned before. Anyway, perhaps a gentle conversation highlighting ways to lessen social awkwardness would work out well for the situation since topics can be interpreted differently and bring attention at different level affecting all aspects of life eventually.
But ultimately remember that laughter is a good thing! Just make sure your children know how to practice moderation when it comes to telling their hilarious dick-and-fart-related tales in public places!
Wait till they find out about sex jokes. #sixtynine
