In the Bible, circumcision is primarily understood as a sign of the covenant between GOD and the Israelites, particularly with Abraham. It is a physical act symbolizing a deeper spiritual commitment. While a significant practice in the Old Testament, its importance is debated within Christianity.

Its importance is not debated. Paul wrote extensively that it is not a requirement of salvation in Christ.

Faith comes first. When you're ready to commit, this is WHEN you get circumcised. Not if, when.

This is actually a requirement straight from the Scriptures themselves (this one was NOT done away with as far as I'm aware). Not to mention that Paul was a deceiver, as the Bible in the NT days was nothing more than a popularity contest of sorts.

Faith in what? If you throw out the writings of Paul you are throwing away half of the New Testament. Either the Scripture passed down by the church is God’s word or it isn’t. Who are you to pick and choose what is Scripture? Speaking of deceivers, you, my friend are deceived.

Paul was a Jew, a prophet of Christ.

Yes, and he said:

“I, Paul, tell you that if you let yourselves be circumcised, Christ will be of no value to you at all. Again I declare to every man who lets himself be circumcised that he is obligated to obey the whole law. You who are trying to be justified by law have been alienated from Christ; you have fallen away from grace.” Galatians 5:2-4

There is not debate. It was settled long ago.

Galatians 5:5-6

5 For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith.

6 For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love.

Yes. So there is no debate. Circumcision has nothing to do with salvation in Christ.

He meant to do “everything for love” because God is Love
