I’ve realised today that after installing #Start9, synching Bitcoin Core and installing electrs and Mempool, my smoothbrain doesn’t really know what to do next.

This is where I always worry. For me, my hardware wallet stays away, offline from everything. Then there’s all this lightning stuff - LND, Core Lightning, Lightning Terminal, Ride the Lightning, LNBits (inbound outbound channels with significant amounts of sats) plus all the other stuff (Nostr RS Relay, NWC/Alby, etc). I can cope with things like File Browser, Ghost, NextCloud and Jellyfin but the rest is testing the smoothbrain 😅
Oh, I might have phrased that poorly.
The Hardware wallet doesn’t touch the internet.
The app you use, that typically has a watch only wallet, gets connected to the node.
Once you sign a transaction, you broadcast to your own node instead of the internet.
Technically you can connect all your wallets to your node.
That’s one of the main points for running your own node.
Yes, I think I may have done this before (different node) when I was pumped up with copious amounts of coffee and things made more sense. Need to get back to that state… as what you say sounds very familiar. I think the break away from bitcoin node stuff I had while working in the Middle East meant I lost that momentum of understanding 😄 Time to get back in with the research!

Have you tried clearing cache? Sometimes it helps.
