Do I need to bow down to BuzzBot to get seen these days? Posts did much better before it came along.
Obvs just need to make better posts too.

I’m starting to think there is only like 100 people that use Nostr daily
We are the weird ones
But yeah my advice would be post everything in all caps
Include the #hellthread
And # buzzbot 🤣🤣
I’ve estimated around 150
lol
150 of the best folks around. Much better than the shitbirds you find elsewhere
Ummm Probably less than 500
It'll pass. Just the newest shiny toy.
I think things like it are here to stay
Could also be my feed, lower follow count. Youre the only reference i see to it. But people you pay to like you only come around until you cant pay them
That's totally backwards and I see that perspective a ton. I don't care about the numbers, I care about the visibility. I can tell who genuinely interacts with my posts by the quantity of quality comments.
I got no problem with buzzbot, it's just exposed a problem with the primal algorithms
Seems like most of the replies to the buzzbot notes are “cheap” replies. One word, not thoughtful just quickly tossing in a note to enter the raffle. That sort of thing should be easy to “discount” in trending algos.
Quick scroll of my 4hr trending feed and I don’t see buzzbut on any of them
So my posts just suck then 🤦
I tend to really like them. But I also like wine and find the production of it interesting. Plus, we have all these clients with different ways. I'm not sure there is a way to figure it out with how quickly things change and all the differences between users. Like you're not just trying to figure out Instagram. You're figuring out all these apps on a protocol. And they aren't limited by the things legacy tech is. I can spin up a client and do whatever the fuck I want and people who use it may be living under a totally different model.
It seems like all you can do is learn the biggest two or three. But even those are basically beta and changing constantly.
It's fun to be here doing it and thinking through it all. I know my posts don't "suck" but they can always be better.
I just don't wanna come off as crying about engagement. It's always done in a bit of jest
All of this to say it may not be that you suck. We all suck and figuring this shit out right now is laying a foundation for future people. It's just going to suck a lot up front I think.
oh look, buzzbot got me seen!
i’m super awesome
fake
Ofc, but you'd rather your work get seen than not seen
it’s not obvious to me.
maybe you could make a statistical argument with data saying it drives sales or something. i can understand that
I really try my best to make decisions grounded in first principles, so on that ground i wouldn’t drink the punch with the turd floating in it, no matter how sweet
if my work is good, and i promote it, and others like it and it spreads, that’s cream floating to the top organically
paying for some astro turfing PR campaign forces anything to the top synthetically, so even if ur work gets traction, you don’t actually have any true measure of its quality imo
I really could care less about the bot interactions as your talking about, but those both interactions game the algorithm so all the real people are more likely to see it
What if we give you more control over the bot? For example, you can set the payout percentage of the zap, like, comment, repost, top response, etc. Set your own spam filter. For example, only allowed users with X amount of followers/followings, X amount of Zaps, and X amount of posts. Custom buzz keywords, for example, $boostben. Just some ideas! 💡
Just mute it if you don’t want to flood those notes your feed.
