hey Nostr, meet Tsunami

It's a platform for artists to self-host their music!

No more 10% to Wavlake and 2% to Fountain.

Tsunami will slash commisions to 0% and return your full ownership of your music.

See it in action I've published a few tracks in v4v music style here https://tsunami-three-liart.vercel.app/

It's in Alpha and I'm ironing publishing to audio relays and RSS format to include to podcast indext but it's worth trying already.

Really nice work. This has great potentials for sure. I have a few questions if you don't mind.

I don't know all that much about blossom servers. Are there any limitations when it comes to hosting these files (on the default servers)? For example, can they be deleted easily if we wish to do so? Any limitations on how much we can store?

I guess the "Enable RSS feed generation" is necessary to turn on, if we want the music to appear in Fountain, V4V, and other apps, right?

Do we need to submit our RSS feed manually, to be indexed, or does that happen automatically through Tsunami?

Does Tsunami allow for administering more than one artist (with separate feeds)?

And one final, more general, question. How does it work if an artist have one track on Wavlake and another one on Tsunami? Will that confuse apps like Fountain, or are they just added to the same artist page without a problem?

Curious to learn more.

All good questions!

Re blossom servers - this considered to be default place to store media on Nostr. You can add other Nostr media servers or if you have your music hosted somewhere just paste the link to the track which is probably more self soverereign.

Yes, RSS generation is necessary for this reasons. I did't want to turn it on and inject to aggregators by default cause people might have it elseswhere so people should be careful. Afaik the usual place to post your feed is https://podcastindex.org/

I'm working on adding management for multiple artists so stay tuned for this! It's coming soon (hopefully tomorrow).

Afaik Fountain is using Podcasting 2.0 so it requires RSS which is generated by Wavlake. If you switch from wavlake you can get your RSS adn submit. I notice though it takes ages for Fountain to index RSS so better be carfeul here.

Tsunami (or Sunami as I'm thinking to brand it) work on Nostr Music.

You can check out https://zaptrax.app/ by nostr:nprofile1qyxhwumn8ghj7mn0wvhxcmmvqy08wumn8ghj7mn0wd68yttjv4kxz7fwv3jhyettwfhhxuewd4jsqgplwuxkt5a8vj5utj6s8tsj8e3wcavc45p4mqmw92qs7wrh5azmys9f0hy6 and nostr:nprofile1qyxhwumn8ghj7mn0wvhxcmmvqy8hwumn8ghj7mn0wd68ytnddaksqgqmcu9qzj9n7vtd5vl78jyly037wxkyl7vcqflvwy4eqhxjfa4yzyr2p7gd https://nodecast.xyz/ so you can see how other apps implemented. As with Nostr you should be free to choose what platform you use. I quite like nodecast for posting music and taking some inspiration there.

Good thinking with the RSS to let the artist choose.

Also cool with the upcoming addition for managing multiple artists.

My experience with Fountain is different. Not slow at all. However, I noticed that your artist page (on Fountain) has the same issue as I faced initially (the 500 error page). It seems to be a Wavlake/Fountain-related problem. I reached out to their support team, and they fixed it, but the issue reappeared shortly after. I contacted them again, and they were able to identify the real cause and make a permanent fix. You might want to reach out to them too, and feel free to mention my experience if it helps.

Good idea with the rebrand of the name. Sunami sounds more unique, catchy and positive. Love it.

Thanks nostr:nprofile1qy88wumn8ghj7mn0wvhxcmmv9uq35amnwvaz7tms09exzmtfvshxv6tpw34xze3wvdhk6tcqyzw8xgm02e0tjz75dqwzn6ajm8qmsrjwrpxdh7zddkn596vsvuxtv3e3e70 !

Sorry I should have clarified it's slow for custom built RSS, uploading to Wavlake is propagating to Fountain quickly as you said. However after speaking to Nick (founder) I've got an impression they have a tight integration with Wavlake so it maybe it's not purely Podcating 2.0 integration between those services.

Yeah, I have this annoying 500 coming from Wavlake which I've raised with support too. Good learning that I just need to chase them more!

Just to clarify, I contacted Fountain about the 500 error, not Wavlake. But yeah, a bit of persistence seems to have sorted it out. I still have an issue that some releases seems to have been pulled in with reversed track order, but I haven't bothered with that yet 🙂

got it! sorry mixed up names!
