Music without limits. Independent by choice, rebellious by nature.

2025 was what it was. Let’s turn 2026 into what it could be. ✨

Musik på svenska 🇸🇪

Music in Swedish 🇸🇪

I wrote and recorded a tribute to the native land where I grew up, in northern Sweden. Not sure if it’ll make sense to an international audience here on Nostr, but here it is ✨🎶

All good questions!

Re blossom servers - this considered to be default place to store media on Nostr. You can add other Nostr media servers or if you have your music hosted somewhere just paste the link to the track which is probably more self soverereign.

Yes, RSS generation is necessary for this reasons. I did't want to turn it on and inject to aggregators by default cause people might have it elseswhere so people should be careful. Afaik the usual place to post your feed is https://podcastindex.org/

I'm working on adding management for multiple artists so stay tuned for this! It's coming soon (hopefully tomorrow).

Afaik Fountain is using Podcasting 2.0 so it requires RSS which is generated by Wavlake. If you switch from wavlake you can get your RSS adn submit. I notice though it takes ages for Fountain to index RSS so better be carfeul here.

Tsunami (or Sunami as I'm thinking to brand it) work on Nostr Music.

You can check out https://zaptrax.app/ by nostr:nprofile1qyxhwumn8ghj7mn0wvhxcmmvqy08wumn8ghj7mn0wd68yttjv4kxz7fwv3jhyettwfhhxuewd4jsqgplwuxkt5a8vj5utj6s8tsj8e3wcavc45p4mqmw92qs7wrh5azmys9f0hy6 and nostr:nprofile1qyxhwumn8ghj7mn0wvhxcmmvqy8hwumn8ghj7mn0wd68ytnddaksqgqmcu9qzj9n7vtd5vl78jyly037wxkyl7vcqflvwy4eqhxjfa4yzyr2p7gd https://nodecast.xyz/ so you can see how other apps implemented. As with Nostr you should be free to choose what platform you use. I quite like nodecast for posting music and taking some inspiration there.

Good thinking with the RSS to let the artist choose.

Also cool with the upcoming addition for managing multiple artists.

My experience with Fountain is different. Not slow at all. However, I noticed that your artist page (on Fountain) has the same issue as I faced initially (the 500 error page). It seems to be a Wavlake/Fountain-related problem. I reached out to their support team, and they fixed it, but the issue reappeared shortly after. I contacted them again, and they were able to identify the real cause and make a permanent fix. You might want to reach out to them too, and feel free to mention my experience if it helps.

Good idea with the rebrand of the name. Sunami sounds more unique, catchy and positive. Love it.

Really nice work. This has great potentials for sure. I have a few questions if you don't mind.

I don't know all that much about blossom servers. Are there any limitations when it comes to hosting these files (on the default servers)? For example, can they be deleted easily if we wish to do so? Any limitations on how much we can store?

I guess the "Enable RSS feed generation" is necessary to turn on, if we want the music to appear in Fountain, V4V, and other apps, right?

Do we need to submit our RSS feed manually, to be indexed, or does that happen automatically through Tsunami?

Does Tsunami allow for administering more than one artist (with separate feeds)?

And one final, more general, question. How does it work if an artist have one track on Wavlake and another one on Tsunami? Will that confuse apps like Fountain, or are they just added to the same artist page without a problem?

Curious to learn more.

hey Nostr, meet Tsunami

It's a platform for artists to self-host their music!

No more 10% to Wavlake and 2% to Fountain.

Tsunami will slash commisions to 0% and return your full ownership of your music.

See it in action I've published a few tracks in v4v music style here https://tsunami-three-liart.vercel.app/

It's in Alpha and I'm ironing publishing to audio relays and RSS format to include to podcast indext but it's worth trying already.

An interesting turn.

This track already seems to have found a new audience beyond the usual music platforms. It’s been inspiring to watch it grow and really fun to follow along.

Big thanks to everyone for the support 🙏🖤

Curious to see how far this could go against the old behemoths like Spotify, Amazon, etc.

If you’re enjoying the music, there’s more to discover… and even more on the way 🎸⚡💥

If you use Affinity 3, you can do it directly in the software. It allows you link your QR code to basically anything you want (website, email, etc). Not only is Affinity a quality product (I switched away from Adobe several years ago), but here comes the cool bonus... it's free.

I agree that it would be great if this became the preferred option for newcomers. In the end, I think it comes down to two factors.

1. The size of the potential audience.

2. The possibility of earning some income.

If income is not really there, then audience size becomes the deciding factor. If income is there, then audience size matters less.

I’m in a somewhat unique position. I have a long background in the legacy music world, which I chose to step away from over a decade ago by going independent, while still co-existing within the legacy space. Because I own all my music and masters, I have the freedom to make whatever decisions I want. Most of my existing supporters are still in the legacy ecosystem, so I’ll continue to maintain a presence there. At the same time, over the past few months I’ve been exploring the v4v space out of curiosity, to see whether I can find a new audience here. I’d really love to see that happen, since I never fully resonated with the old model.

By doing it this way, I can follow first-hand how the old model keeps breaking down, while simultaneously being part of building whatever comes next.

PS. I intend to explore the DeMu network more closely in 2026.

I didn’t know that. 👍 Sounds really cool. However this develops, I think we’ll start seeing stronger results once some kind of standard emerges, where potential supporters are offered a clear set of options, including their preferred transaction model. Since the v4v idea relies heavily on spontaneous contributions, removing as much friction as possible is probably key.

On the receiving end, though, it makes a lot of sense to keep things strictly in BTC, and maybe XMR. It’s not only simpler, it also aligns with where things seem to be heading anyway. If anything, this just helps speed up the transition away from fiat.

https://henrikflyman.com/nostr/future_vs_legacy_world.webp

Lately I’ve been thinking a lot about value-for-value, Nostr, and how music might evolve outside the legacy industry. My sense is that we’re going to see the old and new worlds operating side by side for a number of years, each serving different audiences, before anything fully settles into its final form.

It’s probably unrealistic to expect many established legacy artists to join this space anytime soon. The reasons are many, including long-lasting contracts, increased financial uncertainty, and limited ways to reach genuine music fans. The two worlds aren’t very compatible and don’t translate well into each other.

It may be far more likely to see a new class of established artists emerge entirely within the v4v universe. Their street cred would be sky-high, since it would come from genuine listener support rather than marketing budgets or corporate hype.

I think we only need a handful of real success stories before things start spreading organically. Artists who are creating because they actually have something to say are probably the first ones who will get curious about this model. They are often underserved in the legacy world.

People often point to the Radiohead “pay what you want” release as a successful example of direct fan support. It was an important moment, but it does not fully translate here. Today, v4v largely relies on Bitcoin, which still limits the size of the potential support. That friction will likely decrease over time.

What could really accelerate adoption is the possibility for artists to earn meaningful income while reaching an audience that is actively looking for new, independent music. If that happens, it would not only strengthen v4v as a model, but also help onboard more people to Bitcoin itself. I think this is still early, and I’m curious to see where it goes. The potential for a bright future is definitely here.

Some people mentioned both Depeche Mode and Bowie when they first heard this track. I’m not sure I can live up to that, but it’s flattering nonetheless.

Check it out if you want.

Many good points here. Visibility and reaching the right audience are some of the more challenging areas right now, but I’m sure this will improve over time. As that happens, it will become easier to bring in more music fans.

The Wavlake UI can definitely be improved, but it is still easier than hosting your own feed. I’m sure this will improve a lot over time. Sooner or later, there will probably be a very simple interface that makes self hosting just as easy as using Wavlake, as long as you have access to your own server or web hosting. In the end, this is likely what most artists would appreciate. No middlemen, no extra fees, and a process as simple as uploading to Spotify or Wavlake.

Better filtering of search results would be a great feature. I’m sure it comes with its own challenges, but where there is will, there is a way. Apps like V4V ( https://v4vmusic.com/ ), by nostr:nprofile1qyg8wumn8ghj7cfwdehhxtnvdakz7qgwwaehxw309ahx7uewd3hkctcqyzsf2t4srftxagc8wrcn9elsgzz6450ewyz95z5478nse53etrkx6hp5hgd are definitely moving things in the right direction and deserve our support.

Multiple trending feeds would also be very helpful for discoverability. Wavlake’s Top 40 list ( https://wavlake.com/top ) is pretty good, but it is quite AI music heavy. It would be great to have dedicated human charts, such as Rock, Classical, Electronic, and so on, or any other way of categorizing music that is less genre specific but still gives a clear idea of what to expect.

To bring more established artists into this space, I think the economy would need to be at least somewhat competitive with Spotify. Even though Spotify payouts are very low, they are still far above what the v4v concept produces at the moment. That said, I’m optimistic. We are still very early, and many of us want this to succeed.

Exciting times ahead.

Not only is this a great show by a cool guy 🔥🔥🔥, but in this episode I even got some of my music featured, which makes the whole thing extra awesome 💥🎸

It’s definitely time for some real change, and this could very well be it. Exciting times ahead! 🙂

While Nostr may not be fully embraced as a music platform just yet, I’m excited to keep sharing new releases and see how the community evolves.

The biggest challenge right now seems to be reaching a broader audience.

I’d love to see the Nostr universe grow into the go-to space for social media, with RSS music and V4V becoming the top destinations for discovering, enjoying, and supporting independent music.

Thanks for the zap and "Fuck Yeah" :) 🙏

I have a feeling we’ll be seeing a lot more of these kinds of announcements as the old monopoly realizes it’s losing its grip and starts shifting into damage-control mode. Weird times, for sure — but honestly, pretty exciting ones. It’s not often you get to watch a major historical turning point unfold in real time.

And yeah, the “un-sexiness” of the underlying tech is tied to the fact that people don’t love being reminded that real change requires effort — and that it’s coming whether we’re ready or not.

The divide is probably unavoidable at this stage, but the good news is that no one’s being forced into either camp. It’s an entirely optional fork in the road. And personally, I’m pretty confident we’re on the right side of it.

I’d argue that it isn’t possible without fully disconnecting the platform from both state influence and shareholder-driven models. Companies already inside that system can’t really escape—they’ve agreed to its rules.

Still, opening the discussion matters. The likely winner? Something new and decentralized, like Nostr.

Couldn’t agree more. It’s definitely a process, probably a bit slower than we’d like — but at least we’re finally moving in the right direction. The broader public will come around once they see a few clear success stories, and that’s when curiosity kicks in. The Tidal move will likely accelerate that momentum even more — just as you predicted.

It's already done. It's called Wavlake.

https://wavlake.com

Or If we want to be 100% independent, we can host our own RSS feed and use Podcasting 2.0 features to control our music and its distribution — no third party needed.

It’s no surprise that legacy platforms are beginning to see this as a real threat to their monopoly.

The V4V Music app seems really nice (v4vmusic.com).

I guess major label artists will probably be the last to check out the v4v concept—they’re too tied up in the traditional system. But I think the indie scene is where this could really take off. More and more artists are questioning the old model, especially with how much they lose to the middlemen (direct connection to supporters, slow reporting, economy, etc). The v4v model feels like a real opportunity for creators to thrive without all the red tape. I’m excited to see how it evolves.

Exploring new frontiers in music distribution 🎸

Today marks the release of "A Song For The Voiceless" — available on both Spotify and Wavlake! I'm excited to track the stats across platforms: listeners, geography, engagement, economy... the whole journey. ⚡

Gotta admit, I'm cheering for the RSS release to outperform the others 🔥 😎

Time will tell.

In the meantime, check it out if you're curious and support independent music! 🎧🙂

‘Rise Again’ just climbed back to No.1 on my Spotify Top 10—two years after its release ⚡🎸

As cool as that is, I’d much rather see it thrive as a RSS music release 🔥 in the Podcasting 2.0 / Nostr universe.

Some reviews have name-dropped Depeche Mode and David Bowie to describe the sound. That definitely puts a smile on my face—but yeah, those are some huge shoes to fill 😅😎
