While Nostr may not be fully embraced as a music platform just yet, I’m excited to keep sharing new releases and see how the community evolves.

The biggest challenge right now seems to be reaching a broader audience.

I’d love to see the Nostr universe grow into the go-to space for social media, with RSS music and V4V becoming the top destinations for discovering, enjoying, and supporting independent music.

Here's Dancing With A Ghost.

Boosted for visibility. Keep creating.

Much appreciated. I’ve been doing this for ages, and like you, I’m ready to move away from the legacy platforms. Nostr feels like a breath of fresh air, and I’m excited to see where it can go. I’ll definitely keep pushing forward on the music side, and I’m stoked to have people like you along for the ride! 🎶

This is 💯% accurate

It’s definitely time for some real change, and this could very well be it. Exciting times ahead! 🙂

Yessir.

I would like that too

I’ve been on the lookout for something like this for years! When I finally found this space, it really felt like it could be the one. Let’s definitely do our best to make it happen! 🙂

I love the idea of this being the place for artists.

Wavlake itself could be improved in a number of ways regarding user experience.

Multiple trending feeds would make a huge difference, group songs by similar genres with individual trending feeds, label AI and allow people to hide it.

And allow people to post and reply to regular notes like a normal nostr client.

I think that would be enough, people wouldn't even need to know about Nostr, they would just be migrating from Spotify to a better music streaming app with social features.

Many good points here. Visibility and reaching the right audience are some of the more challenging areas right now, but I’m sure this will improve over time. As that happens, it will become easier to bring in more music fans.

The Wavlake UI can definitely be improved, but it is still easier than hosting your own feed. I’m sure this will improve a lot over time. Sooner or later, there will probably be a very simple interface that makes self hosting just as easy as using Wavlake, as long as you have access to your own server or web hosting. In the end, this is likely what most artists would appreciate. No middlemen, no extra fees, and a process as simple as uploading to Spotify or Wavlake.

Better filtering of search results would be a great feature. I’m sure it comes with its own challenges, but where there is will, there is a way. Apps like V4V ( https://v4vmusic.com/ ), by nostr:nprofile1qyg8wumn8ghj7cfwdehhxtnvdakz7qgwwaehxw309ahx7uewd3hkctcqyzsf2t4srftxagc8wrcn9elsgzz6450ewyz95z5478nse53etrkx6hp5hgd are definitely moving things in the right direction and deserve our support.

Multiple trending feeds would also be very helpful for discoverability. Wavlake’s Top 40 list ( https://wavlake.com/top ) is pretty good, but it is quite AI music heavy. It would be great to have dedicated human charts, such as Rock, Classical, Electronic, and so on, or any other way of categorizing music that is less genre specific but still gives a clear idea of what to expect.

To bring more established artists into this space, I think the economy would need to be at least somewhat competitive with Spotify. Even though Spotify payouts are very low, they are still far above what the v4v concept produces at the moment. That said, I’m optimistic. We are still very early, and many of us want this to succeed.

Exciting times ahead.

It's awesome to see so many of us with similar views on this. It really shows the potential of it all. We don’t often get the chance to make such a big impact on the world we live in. The ripple effect will spread far and wide as the old gatekeepers fade away. Free speech, new economies, cross-border networking, etc. It's all mindbogglingly cool! :)

Btw, thanks so much for all the zaps, everyone. Much appreciated!

Different styles go together pretty well if you know what you're doing. The issue is that not enough musicians know about Wavlake, considering how new the platform is.

Then again, I've used it for about a year or so, but that's just me.
