It's already done. It's called Wavlake.

Or If we want to be 100% independent, we can host our own RSS feed and use Podcasting 2.0 features to control our music and its distribution — no third party needed.

It’s no surprise that legacy platforms are beginning to see this as a real threat to their monopoly.

You and I, and likely many in this space know Wavlake is awesome. Our challenge is how do we teach others to appreciate and utilize these standards? I’m willing to meet anyone where they’re at. I do believe that any major platform implementing Bitcoin and open standards will only improve decentralization elsewhere.

Couldn’t agree more. It’s definitely a process, probably a bit slower than we’d like — but at least we’re finally moving in the right direction. The broader public will come around once they see a few clear success stories, and that’s when curiosity kicks in. The Tidal move will likely accelerate that momentum even more — just as you predicted.

Get out and speak to new musicians. I do. We have 6 new artists publishing on rss. We have a big live gig this Saturday night in Manchester (live streamed over at nostr:nprofile1qqspj38xer7c32wvjjp3phj6acygdayu83dkn7ttmdu5q8w5r4mc2wspzamhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuurjd9kkzmpwdejhgtcppemhxue69uhkummn9ekx7mp0qythwumn8ghj7cnfw33k76twv4ezuum0vd5kzmp0qsaken npub) slowly but surely he will come.

Great work. I’m doing so all the time. Really trying to focus on the right language to use for certain spaces that are clearly trying, just may not have the technical background.

Have fun in Manchester. I really wanted to be there and will be keeping tabs on any live streams and updates.
