So, I'm really new to this network and I have a question.

My main platform is Fediverse and a lot of my content from there was bridged here through the Momostr.pink relay. However, I don't understand relays quite yet and I'm not sure if folks that don't use that relay would be able to see that content.

Therefore, I was wondering if there's value in reposting that content to this profile. Or does content get shared across relays somehow?πŸ€”

Yeah, I got that. But my question is more if other people would see the posts if they don't have that relay...πŸ€”

I want as most people to see it as possible and if that don't use that relay, won't see it...then....🀨

I only see what you’ve reposted in recent days, but no history of notes. Maybe I’m stupid but perhaps a gossip model relay would help? Connect to one & rebroadcast the notes?

I normally don’t use the mostr.pub relay and I have been able to see posts from activity pub accounts. I connected that relay recently to speed up load times in Nostr.

You can also use the Nooti app to cross post on both. My sense is that you get more traction on Nostr with a Nostr account.

Makes sense. Thanks.

Good question. I have also wondered about this.

It is a good question. I don't really know what the current landscape is like right now, I can only tell you what is possible. Nostr is kind of like the internet where even if you delete something, it probably exists somewhere else already.

Relays could be subscribed to momostr.pink and be pushing that content to other relays.

More likely, if someone likes your content, they can rebroadcast your note and it will be available on relays that others use.

Archival relays could be scanning for notes and have a copy.

If your post is liked or boosted, (these are different to rebroadcasting to relays) then it is more likely to be seen by other users. This is because people subscribe to their friends, but clients don't typically push unrelated content, no matter how popular it is.

Hashtags help too because people subscribe to those too. As you have done with #asknostr.

So no, I don't think it makes sense to recreate notes. It would just create duplicates which would be noisy.

You could spin up your own relay to push your content to other relays, you could use a nostr client to find and rebroadcast your notes manually, or you can interact with and engage with people too.

For sure. This helps a ton! Thanks! I feel that'd it would be mostly safe to a degree because the bridge has only been around for a few months and I don't think much content has been boosted from here besides a few. πŸ‘

Jesus, what kind of handle is that?

🀣I love how you took out my Fediverse handle, like I'm not operating both accounts...πŸ˜πŸ˜‰
