I get way more engagement on Nostr than Twitter with the same content since the algo change.
Feels like I got rugged there and rescued here.

I can never rule out my posts sucking as it's the only thing I can control, but they expressed that things were changing and man I can feel it
most of engagement comes from quantity and replying these days
it's a numbers game
reply early to a big players fresh post with high potential of engagement, spin that into a controversial convo (insighftul, if possible :))
and yeah, play to people agreeing with you to gain further followers and traction
this is bc of x ppl earning money for engagement now, therefore it being a quantity and not a quality game anymore

I think I saw someone say that “crypto” content has basically been hidden on X. Which I believe because when I do go to X, I am going to specifically search for bitcoiners who haven’t onboarded here yet and their name is much harder to find even though I already follow them……
Interesting. I noticed that in a search just now but didn't put it all together
not only Twitter, but also YouTube has meant that users who talk about 'nostr', bitcoin and monero do not reach many people, although it is understood, both Google and YouTube work alongside the US government, it is not convenient for them to go viral systems that can cause them to lose control over users.
The NOSTR deboosting has been consistent for a while, but the Bitcoin one potentially seems massive now

X tends to boost content that sparks reactions and encourages conflict. Conflict, conflict, conflict. Conflict gets more on line time, conflict creates more content, more clicks, more views and that creates more money.
It's bad monetary incentive.
To be fair, the engagement based algos on Nostr do the same thing
Engagement is fine, but X is tuned to extreme conflict all the time. I came there for tech and Tesla FSD news and for some time i got what i came for.
Months after Musk took over, those topics disappeared and all i get is total opposite of what i want to see. Flat earth content (i shit you not), extreme religion, extreme politic, extreme forms of US politics (even tho i am from Europe and i do not use VPN so algo knows exactly where i am from) etc. I fix it by muting people that spread certain content and algo does not return to my original thing, no, it throws in another non related high conflict topic. Not so long ago i started getting extreme local politician themes on my feed. Like WTF?! I never searched for that content i never looked at that content i never did anything that would let anyone think: "he is interested in this extremist local group". But X algo thinks so....
I have feeling that X algo is set up to provoke you and to create maximum conflict no matter what, because it earns money on interactions that are created in that kind of environment.
Yes i do get topics i am not interested about in Nostr too. But those are rare occasions and i don't mind it. It's ok to throw in something new now and than, who knows, maybe it's gonna be something you don't know you will like.
Nostr is far from perfect, but it is light year away from X....no..not one....light years.
For example, there is no chance in hell i would have interaction with winemaker from US on X....algo would never ever connect us in no way shape or form. And here we are....talking, exchanging our opinions....and i'm not even angry 🤣
