Completely valid point.

I’m mostly concerned about the precedence that is being set in the US which has an influence on other countries. I know turkey and the US are different countries, but I remember reading Rothbard talk about a concept that describes how court systems adopt similar laws. He was arguing that you don’t need a government to determine laws since we have a history of laws that can be followed. And because bitcoin and crypto are still relatively new, precedence for laws are being set right now.

I wish I could remember the name of the concept but I think it might’ve been called common law? Many of the laws today have roots from governments of the past.

Regardless, my point wasn’t to make it a left right issue. I think it’s all smoke and mirrors. There is no speedy trial. There is no clear evidence or strong case against the devs. There is a lot of bs, delays/motions of the trial, and moving the goalposts (e.g. banning the use of phrases like KYC and AML). I don’t see how Bitcoin development is safer under Trump than it was under Biden. The SBR is trash. It’s very frustrating that the Bitcoin community is focusing on politicians to solve our problems.
