Y'know, I think I'm gonna use N connectors rather than UHF connectors. Just because I can! And I like the idea of a rubber gasket inside the connector, a little extra water protection.

Good on you. I am not a fan at all of the so-called UHF connector. TBH I think its a horrible connector for UHF(perhaps OK for HF), it has non-constant impedance, no water protection, is difficult to solder, and probably is of minimal benefit except in high power situations and even that I'm not sure... Ive also more than once had to troubleshoot quite a bit to find it just wasnt screwed on all the way or one of the teeth got stuck so it didnt go in all the way, this even when working with other people for field day and such.
Obviously I have an Axe to grind, but I've moved mostly to BNC at this point.
