to be honest with you, it's a little bit of both. the Fediverse - where i have lived since 2017 - is a nice place but it's also a bit anti-commercial and it's harder to code stuff for it. Nostr is more money-positive and easier to code for.
Fediverse people come off a little deranged to me .
i find Fediverse people rather hard to put in a box. they're all over the place. you've got the geeks who like the tech, the LGBT people who fled Twitter, woke activists, legit hammer-and-sickle communists, and also people who aren't quite so easy to label, such as the people from noagendasocial.com.
in all fairness, i could call Nostr "just coinbros" if i wanted to stereotype it, but really, what i personally see are two crowds who actually have a lot in common. they're just coming from different places.
That's not a dig at you , that's just my experience so far.

I am using it to promote UTXO POW technology! I love Bitcoin but I also like Litecoin and DigiByte!

Zaps came later, but can't deny it was a nice and welcomed surprise and incentive to stay more and completely leave the 🐦 app..

The tech. But the combination of the tech with the money part is what makes the real difference with other social media imo

Developers do make more money - the developer of Damus received 31M sat. That’s a lot in sats, but not really a lot $ for 3+ months of hard work creating the app.

I’m using Nostr more for the tech. The freedom of speech that can be said in here can’t be spoken anywhere else because once you start it’s immediate account suspension.
Secondly Nostr don’t ask for contact information as other platforms do.
My reasons:
1. To learn more about Bitcoin from an inviting community and how to do all the Bitcoin things
2. Another small way to stack sats
3. Don’t know much about the tech but I’m hoping is contagious

In your opinion what does it make possible? I’ve heard about how it’s decentralized and could potentially allow us to post across platforms (I’m probably butchering the explanation).
I do follow them! Sometimes they’re a bit advanced for me, but I like interacting with people so I’m loving this platform too. I also watch Rugpull Radio as much as I can.
