uhhh.

the self organization cooperation that occurs. and collective funding…. both the volunteer and professional efforts… all of this goes into building a nostr client.

do you see any reason why this exact method and model wouldnt work to build a bridge, or pave a road?

to entertain the idea, assume there is no government to do it.

Got it, I think so, but think you need some strong social ties like a church, family etc to get a group that coordinated

well that is my question..

would you really?

or could it be as simple as very different people being motivated only by the desire to have a bridge and a road in their region?

i suspect the only thing youd need is a culture that had at least 20% or so really civilly engaged people.

i dunno.

im just seeing new ways of thinking and organizing emerging from how people use computers to communicate. i think its going to bleed into many different areas.

just thinking out loud 🙂

You definitely could do this, and it would be more efficient than the current way we do it

But it’s just called a business, and we’ve formed many of them throughout human history

Humans voluntarily cooperating to achieve a goals others see as valuable is the winning strategy in a free world

no, it isnt just called a business. it’s something else. something different and more encompassing.

and besides it just feels like you’re reading from a book.

I’ll take the second part as a compliment - and I see your point about a sense of community and charity being important. I think that separate structures for separate goals is a good thing.

The bridges shouldn’t be built by people with no incentive to do it beautifully, with care, and with the community in mind, but they also shouldn’t be done needlessly and unprofitably.

I think that a free organization like a business would be the natural solution. It doesn’t have to be ugly like today’s businesses, which are controlled by the government and the banks (finance). But the structure works well.

yeah. the natural incentives are really powerful.

we really get in the way with all of out fear and need to classify, categorize, and control, need to be recognized as first or as influencers… all these ego things.

we also talk to much and try to little

Sure, that, and/or economic incentives.

exactly 👍

I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately.

v4v infrastructure fundraising & building.

yeah right??

its really capturing my attention tonight.

Behind the organization and cooperation stands the great wizard - motivation

We can do magic things when we are driven by the force within us and not the rules around us
