i watched The Wizard of Oz for the first time yesterday.
i noticed lot of references i have previously saw in other movies that i only now realize they were from the movie, one examples i remember is the "I'm melting" scene in Casper.
the movie is great, the story was meh really, maybe fun for 10 year olds not sure.
i was more impressed by how good it was in 4K HDR.
I guess now watch it with Dark Side of The Moon.
Thats what led me to watch it hehe but i did not watch it all
Yeah, I'm sure part of the hype of the movie was the pure spectacle of seeing color on screen.
Super neat that the transition from Kansas to Oz wasn't shot on black and white film, and they just made a movie set in grayscale with costumes to match so they could transition to the technicolor Oz seamlessly
That was very impressive. Knowing it was made that far back.
