Discussion

The discussions I’ve seen tend to be more political than technical lol

Ima stay in my lane on this one, with the guard rails up.

This is the way!

Me, too. My only hot take is that governments are likely going to make having a copy of the blockchain data illegal because of all the β€˜bad’ things on it. That is going to scare off users running their own node.

they don't need any "bad" things there to make it illegal.

Everyone has a responsibility to run Bitcoin if you care about self custody and you want to minimize trust.

Core is proposing a big change to default policy that will effect everyone that updates their node and does not change default settings.

Knots is node software with extra features, but any node today runs the default filter settings- β€œswitching to knots” is mostly a form of protest and user flagging.

Staying on an old Bitcoin core version is the same thing.

Meh, I kind of get it. If we’re considering bitcoin to be solely a monetary network, then why the f are we allowing stupid jpgs and port to take up space on the chain? People can do that on eth or smoking chicken fish instead

But, wtf do I know. I just make #hodlbutter

Ya, when something goes past 'what can i do' to 'what we or others should be doing' kniw something gone full politik. Ill run my node(s) thats all i care to take the time to figure out, got life to live.
