Excellent book.
I saw jack's note and immediately remembered you and I talked about this book over dinner in Oslo 🫂
great book ⚡
Show. Don’t tell. I like it. 📖🎧😎
If you're into learning, you might enjoy Once Bitten 444.
The majority of the first hour is all about nuanced aspects of learning and the education process.
So I was reading the first paragraph about the book, and all of a sudden out of nowhere started thinking about playing chess again and remembering it or even find a club or class and then I continue reading about the book the following paragraphs started talking about his chess playing! Very interesting! 📚🤔🤨
Can someone explain why i started thinking about the Chess ♟️ before reading the other paragraphs and seeing it!
easy to remedy the "helpers" - mostly, you have to start paying attention to my written content and not the vibes. today 👆🏻 was my real father. i have explained that before. my parents have been divorced for 37 years, both are remarried, but tag me (as a man) to talk to each other (reverse genders, sometimes). it's toxic as fuck. which is how you (and the others) ended up in the rotation via comms, talking to my mom, thinking it's me, but your comms ended up in MY feed. which is why - gestures broadly. anyway, i can fix it. but you have to pay attention to me and stop sipping the pool water.... i know what happened, they don't. it doesn't matter. they're not sorry.
Keeeep these recs coming 🧚🏾♂️
This is a great book.

Ordered right away. Thanks for the heads up!
I read this many years ago (maybe 2008ish), but I remember it being such a good book! The ‘entity vs. incremental’ learning concept was a game-changer for how I approached challenges—accepting that failure was not an obstacle but a tool for growth. It also made me more aware of the ‘hard zones’ vs. ‘soft zones’ and the importance of being fully present, even through setbacks. However, ‘making smaller circles’ took a while to incorporate into my mindset—honestly, I’m still working on that, but I love how it shifts the focus to depth over breadth.
What were some of your biggest takeaways?
Capacity to learn means capacity to find signal, capacity for high communication.
We are only individuals because our cells commmunicate in such a tight way that they act as one.
Our brains may be a director, but our cells also "want" to be together. The brain doesn't "control" it assumes and trusts.
How can we make that for ourselves? Communication and organization so that we all want to work together?
Need to facilitate better communication.
Hence, build better educational systems.
I’ve started reading the book—thanks for the heads-up!
Do you have any other recommendations on books about learning? Always looking to expand my knowledge.
