Is anyone else a bit bored of lnurl vs bolt12 debate? Superior solution will win in the end, in the mean time one is used daily by many for variety of applications, the other is called bolt12.

More shipping and less arguing might change that, but bolt12 is PoC at best atm (yes i know it works on cln but nothing out there supports it and cln market share is tiny).

lightning labs is not exactly in a rush to support it and with that it also doesn't make sense for wallets etc. So until we're are arguing something that works very well in practice vs something that is more of a mental exercise than a real replacement atm lets just dont?

No one realized that zaps have won against both lnurl and bolt12.

Ideas on fixing lightning network next?

I thought you said zaps were broken - that they could be misrepresented by someone pretending to have zapped you. Is this fixed or am I misinformed?

Using pure nostr yes, but I think what this all means is that if you have API access to your wallet and compare it with the Zap message, then you have the full end-to-end picture of what happened. IE: you could potentially use a zap on a message just like an invoice, connect to your wallet api and decide what to do. However the nostr clients will not be aware if the invoice was paid or not because that's the piece that is missing (zap confirmation type message).

There are many ways to fix that.

What? I thought tippin.me won already. /s

💯

Zaps that are fetched over LNURL?

Sometimes the first working solution to market is the one that wins. Lnurl has wide adoption so Bolt12 has an uphill battle now.

Maybe having multiple lightning implementations is a weakness in itself. Can someone counter this?
