I'm enjoying this new 'mature' Bitcoin. Boring Bitcoin is underrated.
Friday should be interesting, might just get some nice steaks.
What is Friday?
Friday is the day after MSTR's earnings call for Q2.
They've paused Bitcoin purchases until after this call.
I expect this call to be different in that they will move to fair value accounting. This would be the first quarter that MSTR has recognised the appreciation in Bitcoin's purchasing power on their P&L.
This announcement will again put MSTR & bitcoin in the spotlight among tradfi. I wouldn't be surprised if it breaks records for quarterly earnings even though it's just reflecting Bitcoins gains over the last 4 years.
I expect they will then resume their Bitcoin acquisitions. They should be sitting on a fairly large cash position right now with a descent ATM issuing of MSTR last week. Bitcoin has been trading sideways for the last week or so without Strategy buying & with a fair amount of sell pressure from old coins moving.
I could be wrong, but I'm quietly optimistic. Bitcoin in cold storage is the risk free position IMO. I do have exposure to MSTR as of last week.
